The Secret Weapon to Enhance Your Yoga Practice: The Foam Roller | Tapas Yoga HK

For Muscle Relaxation and Increasing Flexibility:

  1. Rolling the foam roller over your muscles is like giving them a massage. It effectively relaxes tight fascial tissue, increases joint range of motion, and relieves muscle soreness. Using the roller to press and release sore muscles helps with faster recovery and reduces discomfort caused by overexertion.

  2. In poses that require opening the shoulders, you can use the roller to massage and stretch, thereby increasing the range of joint movement and improving flexibility.

For Strength and Posture Correction:

  1. During core training, placing the roller under your palms or elbows for support and balance exercises can effectively work the core muscles.

  2. In certain poses like Warrior II, you can place the roller on the inside of the thigh and calf to adjust posture and prevent the thigh from collapsing inward, thereby better working the thigh muscles. This allows you to get the most out of your practice.
