30-Hour Yoga Wheel Teacher Training

The Yoga Wheel: More Than Just Backbends

The yoga wheel has become a studio staple—and for good reason. Students who've never gotten close to wheel pose find themselves dropping back with the support. Tight upper backs finally open. It's a prop that makes the impossible feel possible, and people want classes that use it.

This 30-hour training covers the full range: gentle supported stretches for beginners, deep backbend work for intermediate students, and challenging balance sequences for those who want more. You'll also learn the therapeutic side—using the wheel for spinal massage and myofascial release.

We'll work through real teaching scenarios: What do you do when someone's wheel keeps rolling away? How do you modify for larger bodies or limited flexibility? By the end, you'll have a library of sequences ready to go and the confidence to workshop your own creative flows.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a yoga wheel and what are its benefits?

A yoga wheel is a circular prop designed to support and deepen yoga poses, especially backbends. Benefits include improved spinal flexibility, shoulder opening, core strengthening, and balance. It's also excellent for massage and myofascial release.

Do I need yoga wheel experience before the training?

Prior yoga wheel experience is helpful but not required. You should have a regular yoga practice and be comfortable with basic backbends. We recommend trying a few yoga wheel classes before the training to familiarize yourself with the prop.

Will I receive a yoga wheel to keep?

Yoga wheels are provided for use during the training. Upon completion, you can purchase your own wheel at a discounted rate. We can recommend quality wheels suitable for teaching and personal practice.

Can I teach yoga wheel without a 200-hour certification?

While a 200-hour yoga teacher training provides a strong foundation, this standalone certification qualifies you to teach yoga wheel-specific classes and workshops. Many graduates add this as a specialty to their existing teaching credentials.
