Yoga Retreat Soul Journey: Learning Praise and Self-Affirmation | Tapas Yoga HK

[The editor confusedly shares thoughts and learnings from this journey] A week after the Yoga Retreat ended, the feelings of warmth and fulfillment still remain in my heart.
During the preparation, I once questioned whether my arrangements were too recreational? After all, we went up mountains, down to water, and up into the sky, with only one yoga class per day - would it not feel like a proper "yoga retreat"? However, after it ended, I discovered that with awareness, even in a playful atmosphere, it can still be yoga.

I remember sharing with fellow travelers about a small incident from my time as a tiny tiny tiny tiny caregiver (because my family members contributed much more than me, so I was just a tiny one). Understanding the hard work and contradictions of being a caregiver, we can only focus on making decisions in the present moment that we believe are the most correct and without regret. Everyone's capacity is limited, and we can only do our best in our roles. (Tung Sir often teaches me that doing our best is enough.)
Additionally, Satoko's cooking skills were outstanding, using the freshest and organic ingredients, often making me want seconds. But one evening during a mindful eating session, we had to carefully taste every bite of food. Usually a fast eater, I surprisingly was the last person to finish. Moreover, after eating halfway, I already felt full. Only then did I realize I don't need such large portions.
Finally, on this journey I learned to "praise others, praise yourself." When it comes to praise, I'm very reserved - I usually keep words of praise hidden in my heart, silently grateful. By chance, I was able to buy stationery and pens. Suddenly I had the urge to write letters praising Satoko and my fellow travelers (I apologize - I write slowly and after two hours, I couldn't write to every lovely person). Even after writing, I didn't have the courage to give out the letters because I was afraid of awkwardness. However, during the party that night, in a half-drunk state, I gathered the courage to hand them out. To my surprise, they were so happy and moved to tears when receiving the letters - a feeling I had forgotten for a long time. I often doubt my abilities, but I realized that praise gives people tremendous strength. So let me also praise myself: completing this trip, Charmain and Tung did well, the group cooperated well, and I did well too! Don't hesitate to praise others and praise yourself more often! Subarashii (Wonderful)!
My body is still very tired, but my spirit is very fulfilled. Looking forward to experiencing my own transformation each time.
