Tapas First Yoga Retreat Review: Gratitude and Touching Moments | Tapas Yoga HK
Author -
Thank you all for participating in Tapas's first Yoga Retreat (May 15-18; May 18-21, 2024)!
The Yoga Retreat was something we had always wanted to organize but never had the chance to do. A big thank you to @yogasiumui Teacher Charmain for her bold suggestion and active preparation, and to all the students for their enthusiastic participation, which made this Yoga Retreat a success.
Knowing that May is the rainy season in Japan, weather was our biggest concern from planning right up until the event. I remember during the second group, the weather forecast said it would rain, and the Tamba weather oracle predicted overcast skies - we were worried we wouldn't be able to go up the mountain or walk through the streams. Fortunately, everyone was a child of the sun - both groups of students successfully completed activities on land, water, and air!
I remember one of our students asking me during the trip: "Why are the people here so nice? Everyone is really so kind." Throughout the journey, I observed that beyond the joking around, everyone helped and encouraged each other - it was incredibly warm. Besides agreeing "yes, yes," I couldn't explain why everyone was so wonderful. I remember on the last night at the party, I - someone who usually doesn't drink at all - had a few sips and got drunk. When I was drunk, I only knew that when I opened my eyes, I cried and then laughed, laughed and then cried again - those weren't tears of sadness, but tears of being touched by the warmth of the people here (I hope I didn't scare anyone). @satoko_ki_ and her family worked tirelessly every night to arrange the best for us. I saw them still communicating with partners until past 11pm, not finishing work until 2am, then starting again at 5am to make everything perfect for us. @yogalokate is a place with five-star service and six-star human warmth. Thank you for these eight days of hard work.
I'm already rambling incoherently! Finally, Tapas has entered its fifth year. Thank you all for accompanying us through these five years. Five years - not too long, not too short. Thank you for your support, and we will continue to work hard and keep going.
Last but not least, this event's success is completely thanks to @yogasiumui! She was pushed to the limit by her boss's boss, truly amazing!
