2.5-Hour Universal Yoga (UY) Experience Class

First of all, I'm very grateful to have learned Universal Yoga created by Guruji Andrey Lappa. Combined with Teacher Will Lau's lively, interesting, and practical teaching style, I was able to effectively absorb UY's knowledge and teaching techniques.

UY practice has some unique and signature elements, such as using a cross mat for practice. The practice is very comprehensive, involving breathing exercises, mantra chanting, and meditation. In the asana practice, movement directions include both vertical and horizontal planes, and some alignment details differ slightly from other styles.

For this session, I'm presenting one of the classic sequences. The two-hour asana practice covers balance, inversions, forward bends, backbends, side bends, twists, stretching, and strengthening. It combines asana and dynamic vinyasa to fully mobilize the feet, hips, hands, shoulders, and spine joints, evenly training strength, flexibility, and stability.

Deep Experience of 2.5-Hour Universal Yoga

On the internal level, the practice includes pranayama (breathing techniques), pratyahara (sense withdrawal), dharana (concentration and attention control), dhyana (meditation and attention withdrawal), and samadhi (aware but unconscious state).

Practitioners will balance energy, stabilize emotions, and enhance awareness during the course. I will also provide guidance and adjustments according to individual student needs. For the final half hour, everyone can relax in a Singing Bowl Bath, followed by meditation and mantra chanting practice.
