I treated yesterday as a moon day and rested without practicing, planning to make up for it today. But I had dinner too late last night and didn't sleep until 2am. I had to teach class at 6:30 this morning and woke up around 5:40 as usual, so I only got about three and a half hours of sleep. My first thought upon waking was to just go home and sleep after teaching, but when I left the house, I still packed my yoga mat and change of clothes - just in case!

After finishing teaching around noon, I felt pretty good. Plus, after moving around all morning, my body was already warmed up, so I decided to go ahead and practice.

The Joy of Persistent Practice: From Giving Up to Flowing Smoothly on the Yoga Journey

Practicing with a warmed-up body was so much smoother compared to practicing right after waking up. Today I forgot to bring my small towel, so I didn't even have time to wipe away sweat, which made the whole practice even more continuous and flowing. Normally my full practice (skipping the 7 headstands) takes about 2 hours, but today's full practice including the 7 headstands that I hadn't practiced in a long time, plus rest, was just exactly an hour and a half.

From originally wanting to give up to actually completing my practice - and having it flow so smoothly - I was truly happy!
