Ashtanga Second Series: Nerve Purification and Headstand Challenge | Tapas Yoga HK
Author -
The Ashtanga Second Series is called Nadi Shodhana, meaning "nerve purification." After completing the initial backbend series, we move into the middle section with leg-behind-head poses, arm balances, and inversions, then challenge the seven headstands at the end of the sequence. While completing a single headstand isn't particularly difficult - even some beginners can do it easily - performing consecutive headstands with jump backs and jump throughs in between makes it much more challenging.

My first attempt at completing the first three consecutively felt noticeably unstable. And there are still four more to go!
