About This Collaboration

Tapas Yoga HK partnered with New Home Association (新家園協會) to design and lead a 4-week yoga inclusion program for ethnic minority women in Sham Shui Po. The program featured simple, accessible movements combined with breathing and mindfulness practices, helping participants stretch, release stress, and build confidence in a safe, supportive environment.

About New Home Association: New Home Association is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting new immigrants and ethnic minorities in Hong Kong. Through community programs and social services, they promote social inclusion and help newcomers integrate into Hong Kong society. The Challenge & Objective

New Home Association sought a wellness program that could bridge cultural and language barriers while providing tangible physical and emotional benefits. The challenge was creating yoga sessions that felt welcoming and accessible to women from diverse cultural backgrounds who may have had no prior experience with yoga.

  • Design accessible yoga sessions suitable for participants with no prior experience
  • Create a safe, supportive environment that bridges cultural and language differences
  • Help participants build self-confidence and expand their social circles through shared practice

What We Delivered

Tapas Yoga HK designed a progressive 4-week yoga inclusion program that combined gentle yoga movements with breathing exercises and mindfulness practices. Each week built upon the previous session, gradually deepening participants' understanding and comfort with yoga while fostering meaningful connections within the group.
